Birth affirmations are short statements or sayings to promote a positive mindset during the birthing process. They are easy-to-remember reminders you can repeat to yourself when the going gets rough. Affirmations help to alleviate fear, increase confidence in one’s body, and help create a sense of calm.

Mulitple studies suggest that affirmations have a positive impact on performance and outcomes. They even impact the neuroplasticity of the brain in positive ways as you adapt to changes throughout life. What you tell yourself matters!

Some clients create posters, banners, or other visual reminders to decorate their birth space. Many of these affirmations can be repeated like a prayer. Spend a little time finding affirmations that encourage, calm, and empower you for the task of childbirth. Practice them before you go into labor and keep them in front of you during labor to remind yourself of the things you need to hear when you are welcoming your baby into the world.
